What can you expect?

We view your naturopathic care as a partnership with you.  At our initial meeting, we will have an in-depth discussion about your particular concern.  In addition, we will often discuss other areas to provide a more complete picture of your state of well-being.  There may be a complaint oriented physical exam, depending on circumstance.  At the conclusion of the first visit, we will, together, decide on a tailored treatment plan.  We do our best to answer any questions or concerns so that you are comfortable with the way forward.

Subsequent visits are an important part of the process, so we can assess and adjust your plan according to your progress.

Treatment plans can take many difference forms.  There are, however, some common threads that run between them here at Sage Elements Naturopathic Clinic.  There will always be a discussion about dietary habits, as the food we eat and its effect on our health is a cornerstone of naturopathic care.  Beyond this, there are often other therapies that can augment dietary intervention.  These include botanical medicine, nutritional supplementation, homeopathy, acupuncture and lifestyle counseling (exercise, stress management techniques, etc.).  When developing a treatment plan, we endeavour to acknowledge and incorporate physical (e.g. biochemical influences), mental and spiritual contributors of health.

On occasion, some individuals are concerned that naturopathic therapies will hinder or negatively affect other treatments they might be undergoing.  While this could be said of any therapy, we make every effort to ensure this does not happen and are quite willing to work in a collaborative manner with any other healthcare providers.

Laboratory Testing

While we do not have an onsite laboratory, we are pleased to offer the following testing options:

Digestive – Comprehensive Digestive and Stool Analysis (CDSA), Parasitology, SIBO

Dietary – IgG Food Sensitivity Testing, Carroll Testing

Hormonal – Salivary or urine testing (DUTCH Testing)

Blood – we can provide a requisition for you for blood work if needed.  As this is not part of the public system, there are fees associated with it.  Fees vary depending on what is being tested.
