Dr. Priya Joshi, ND - Naturopathic Doctor
My intention as your Naturopathic Doctor is to provide you with a safe environment and time to express your health concerns. By listening to your story, working with you, and using nurturing therapies, I hope to educate, empower, and inspire you to understand your body’s messages and trust your healing wisdom. I hope to encourage healthy positive changes into your life and help you reconnect with who you are – in body, mind, and spirit. The healing journey involves small steps taken everyday. My goal is to help you feel vibrant, healthy, and happy with the changes you have implemented for your personal growth and healing.
My journey began when at a young age I was diagnosed with a chronic disease. Nutrition, supplements, homeopathy and a positive frame of mind helped me with my healing and lead me to learn more about the human body. I completed an undergraduate Honours Biology degree at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, NS, and continued my education at the 4-year, full-time Naturopathic medical program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto, graduating in 2000. It was during my education at CCNM that my passion and commitment to the art of healing and our own healing wisdom blossomed. I traveled to Belize in early 2008 to further my education by professional training in Maya Abdominal and Uterine therapy. I am now one of a few practitioners in Canada who practice this ancient therapy.
I practiced in Ontario soon after graduation until 2008, when my father passed away from cancer. I decided to follow my own Naturopathic Doctor’s prescription and take a year sabbatical from my practice to heal emotionally, spiritually, and physically. My mother and I traveled throughout India for six months. While in India, I was given the opportunity to do some volunteer work and also learned more about nature cure and other modalities. I arrived back in Nova Scotia in 2009 and was a locum for a couple of Naturopathic doctors as they went on maternity leave. I fell in love with Nova Scotia again over the year and set up my own practice after I completed the locum opportunities.
I have a general family practice, with a special interest in helping people with reproductive and sexual health concerns, hormonal imbalances, fertility awareness, pregnancy care, menopausal support, and emotional health. I love inspiring and encouraging people to deepen their self-awareness, nurture themselves, and reconnect with their body’s natural rhythms.

Nick Cardone, RCT - Adventure Counselling
First and foremost, I am a partner and father living in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with an immense love of moving through our wide open, wild and natural spaces. Doing so with my family and friends is one of the most joyous things I can think of doing.
Doing so with my clients comes a close second. Combining the passion and skillset that comes with travelling by bike, canoe or on foot in the wilderness, with my path as a therapist is so incredibly rewarding, it is hard to put into words. Adventure and Wilderness Therapy, with other experiential therapies, has led me to explore other highly meaningful ways of ‘doing’ therapy, especially with men and adolescents.
That said, I do not expect this way of working with my clients will work for everyone. I hold weekly office hours at Sage Elements Naturopathic Clinic (Mondays from 930AM – 700PM).
Credentials-wise:
· Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate (RCT-C) with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists
· Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association
· Master of Education in Counselling (M.Ed.) from Acadia University
· Member of the Therapeutic Adventure Professional Group with the Association for Experiential Education
As such, I adhere to a Code of Ethics and a Standards of Practice for the above organizations, and participate in regular professional development to ensure a current and solid foundation in the therapeutic offerings to my clients.
Finally, I have been working in Mental Health and Addictions settings for over 10 years. This work has seen me support people ranging in age, from early teens to older adults, helping them navigate through mental illness, life stress or other challenges.
To schedule an appointment or to have a free 15 minute phone consult, please feel free to contact Nick at 902-456-3613.
Martha Faron, Ost. (UK)
Martha Faron, a native of Worcester, MA, USA, is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a BA in Communications in 1998. There she began her career in emergency medicine and as a volunteer firefighter, reflecting her desire to help people in need of immediate care. These jobs required her to be physically fit and it was through sports (basketball, fencing, cross country skiing, backpacking, kayaking) and being treated for injuries that developed her interest in manual medicine. She went on to complete postgraduate studies in Pre-Medicine in 2008 at UMass Amherst and a Master’s degree in Osteopathy (M.Ost) in 2014 from the British School of Osteopathy in London, UK.
Osteopathy aims to harness the innate healing abilities of the body whilst supporting a patient’s physical recovery using manual therapy and rehabilitative exercise. Her role as an osteopath is to guide, educate, and empower the patient during their treatment, with the patient at the center of the process.
Martha has extensive experience in the treatment and management of acute and chronic conditions and she can develop a care plan suited to the patient’s individual healthcare needs. She utilizes a multidisciplinary approach in treating musculoskeletal pain using dry needling, sport massage therapy and Reiki, alongside her osteopathic training. Her approach to patient rehabilitation and after care is informed by being a senior yoga instructor and by her further study on exercise in the workplace for her Master’s dissertation.
Martha has specialist interests in the management of patients with chronic pain and has advanced training in the use of mindfulness meditation and acceptance commitment therapy (ACT). Her further postgraduate education in cranial sacral therapy with the Upledger Institute, concussion management with SHIFT and Concussion Rehab Works Inc., and visceral osteopathy with the Barral Institute and Jean Pierre Barral DO, has enhanced her knowledge of functional treatments for patients with systemic conditions.
Martha welcomes patients of all ages for osteopathic treatment to manage their current health issues and restore a sense of balance and wellbeing in their lives. For information on Osteopathy and Martha’s practice, please visit: www.marthafaron.com
